Before I get into this, it's important that you understand what self help, personal development and self improvement, actually mean? In a nut shell, it's exactly what it says on the tin, anything to do with improving or developing yourself. For example, career, relationships, health, psychology, etc.. Self help is basically any form of information, or tools that help you, to help yourself.

I've got a quick question for you...

Has there ever been a time in your life where you couldn't wait for tomorrow to come? or even didn't want to go to sleep because you was having such a great time? You must have felt like that at least once in your life, right? I bet you even have a big smile on your face just remembering those 'good times'...

But here's the thing, why can't every second of every single day be like that, for you, me - ALL OF US?...

Well actually, it can! But of course, FIRST, you need to know how that's done. But let me tell you something, it's much easier than you might think...

If you are at all interested in self improvement or personal development, it's important to get 'First things FIRST'. In other words, start from the ground up. Picture this, imagine I gave you a recipe to make a cake, you wouldn't start from step 5, would you? Self improvement is no different...

So, let's do things properly and start from the all important first step!...

STEP ONE is the most important step of all, and it plays the biggest part in what we all crave in life - Happiness! Step one is not only the most important step, but also the most difficult. This is the stage were you build your life's foundational values, but not just any old values, they have to be ROCK SOLID values.

STEP TWO helps to fit the pieces to your self improvement puzzle. Basically, you have to 'know', or have a theory, about what the meaning of life is. 'Knowing' this, will help you to shape your life. My theory on what life means, is this - "Life is a never ending, 'roller coaster' journey of CHOICES and EMOTIONS". Ultimately, everybody wants to be happy. Onto step three...

STEP THREE, is to find, or understand, what YOUR purpose in life is. Put another way, "what were you put on this planet to do?" Don't worry, this isn't as difficult or mysterious as it may sound, we all have the perfect 'tool' for doing this - Our EMOTIONS. Yes, it is true, your emotions can be your best friend or worst enemy, and sometimes at the same time! So ask yourself, "What is it that I really love doing?". Now take that a step further and ask yourself, "What FEATURES does my passion have that I love?".

STEP FOUR involves actually constructing your DREAM Life. This bit will stretch your self improvement prowess to the limit, but don't worry, this is very much doable. This step is based on the features you identified in step three and one of the most powerful personal development tools around - GOAL SETTING! Do this for each of the different departments of your life. For example, Health, Wealth, Relationships, etc. All of this comes together and forms your very own, personal development plan. And now for the really exciting bit...

STEP FIVE - Live the life you have designed in your personal development plan. In other words, live your DREAM Life!

Naturally, there is a bit more to it than that, but hopefully you get the general gist of self improvement, and what's required to live your DREAM Life!
