Self Improvement - A Beginners Guide

Self improvement encompasses a variety of areas. When people say they are in a "self improvement" phase of their lives, it can mean they want to improve spiritually, financially, emotionally, physically, or mentally. This article will touch on each area that a person can improve themselves.

To improve one's self spiritually, a person does not have to be religious. The best way to start improving spiritually is to merely take 10 minutes a day to meditate at the end of everyday. Spend ten minutes to yourself, thinking about what you want to become and where you want to be. Writers like Deepak Chopra and Joel Osteen can be particularly inspiring for those wishing for self improvement. Joel Osteen's book, "Become a Better You," was helpful in my own spiritual transformation.

The second area to improve one's self is financially. There are many authors that can help you get organized in your financial life. Some easy steps to start out with are making a budget every month and aligning your values with your spending. If you are spending money on things you don't care about, then stop spending on those items or activities. Authors like Suze Orman, Dave Ramsey, and David Bach can help you get organized with their books and online financial planning tools.

Emotionally, often people find they have been repressing certain emotions their entire lives. To improve one's self emotionally, a person may consider writing in a journal and speaking with a counselor. There is no need to be ashamed of your emotions. By releasing them, you are allowing yourself to grow.

Physically, improving one's self takes determination and drive. The best advice for this area of self improvement is to make a gym schedule and go running at least three or four times a day. Also, consider making a poster board with pictures of celebrity physiques you wish to emulate in your life.

Last, there are many ways to improve yourself in a mental way. If you are young, consider going back to school at a University you always wanted to attend. If you are older, maybe taking one or two classes is all you need for mental stimulation.

The key is, when you are aiming for self improvement, stay focused on your self. Make a plan and follow through with it, and you will see the successful results in your life.

When I'm taking a break from improving my self and reading all the great books out there, you can find me writing about tires of all things at Goodyear assurance tripletred where I share my thoughts on the great tires put out by Goodyear such as the Goodyear assurance comfortred.
